Move Bounce Groove is a pop-up electronic music event series touring Southeast Queensland — built to spotlight the artists the Gold Coast has been hiding and give them the room they deserve.
We don't go out to be seen.
We go out to disappear into the music.
We've driven to Brisbane for it.
We've flown to Melbourne for it.
We've stood in the back of sweaty rooms and felt it —
that thing that happens when the right sound hits a crowd that actually cares.
The Gold Coast has always had that crowd.
It just never had a room big enough to hold us.
Move Bounce Groove is that room.
This is for the ones who know the DJ's name before everyone else does.
For the ones who get there early and stay until the last track.
For the ones who've been quietly building a scene
that the rest of the country is about to find out about.
We move. We bounce. We groove.
And we do it together.
MBG started as a pop-up. A speaker, a DJ, a car park, and a crowd of people who showed up because someone they trusted said they should.
No stage. No production. No guarantee anyone would come. They came anyway — because on the Gold Coast, if you find people who care about music the same way you do, you don't let that go.
Two years later, we're still those same people. We just have a bigger room now.
Every city has an underground. Every city has a group of artists grinding in obscurity while the mainstream ignores them. The Gold Coast is no different — except our underground is genuinely world-class.
We've spent two years finding those artists, building their audiences, and putting them in rooms where people can actually hear them properly. That's not going to stop.
June 27 is the biggest room we've built yet.
Southeast Queensland has talent. It has culture. It has a crowd that's been waiting years for someone to take the music seriously. What it hasn't had is a platform — a consistent, credible event series that shows up, puts local artists centre stage, and does it properly.
That's what Move Bounce Groove is building. Not a one-off event, not a brand that disappears after one good night — but a touring series that grows with its community, finds new venues, discovers new artists, and keeps expanding the definition of what a Gold Coast music night can be.
Every show we put on is an argument for why you don't have to leave to find something worth hearing. We intend to keep making that argument until we don't have to anymore.
